⚈ Operating hours: Hagia Sophia is open every from 9:00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. (19:30).
⚈ Free for children under 8 years must be accompanied by an adult and prensenting a valid passport or ID card.
⚈ "Entrance and Exit Access" - The ramps and stairs in this area are not accessible for individuals with disabilities or those who have difficulty walking. We kindly ask these guests to use the "Turkish Citizen Entrance" with their tickets.
⚈ Women are required to cover their heads and shoulders, both men and women must cover their knees before entering the Hagia Sophia Mosque. Headscarves and body coverings can be obtained at the ticket booth for a nominal fee
⚈ As Hagia Sophia serves as a sacred site for worship, visitors are kindly asked not to take photographs of or stare at Muslims who are praying or performing namaz. Please maintain silence throughout your visit, refrain from running, and ensure that children are kept from creating loud disturbances.
⚈ The optimal times to visit are before 10 am and after 3 pm to avoid crowds, which are particularly dense on fridays, weekends & public holidays. During prayer times, only Turkish citizens may enter the prayer area.
⚈ Muslim visitors from abroad are advised to enter the mosque's prayer area through the main gate located at Hagia Sophia Square (Ayasofya Meydanı) before the call to prayer to perform salah. Please be aware that the prayer area is not accessible for visits due to daily cleaning and maintenance from the morning prayer time until 10:00 AM.
⚈ Visiting area of the mosque is closed to visitors between 12:30-14:30 due to Friday Prayers.
⚈ Foreign tourists can now enter Hagia Sophia through the newly opened tourist entrance located near Topkapi Palace. From there, they will have direct access to the upper floor galleries via a gentle ramp.
